We started Elecool in 2008 with a single van and a simple idea: do the job properly, charge a fair price, and turn up when you say you will. Eighteen years later, we've completed over 200 shop fit-outs, thousands of residential jobs, and built a customer list that overwhelmingly hires us again.

Our approach to electrical work

Every Elecool job follows the same four-step process — think, plan, create, succeed. We listen first, plan thoroughly, work cleanly, and test everything before we hand it back. That's how you finish a switchboard upgrade in a single day without surprises, or a shop fit-out over a weekend without missing Monday's opening.

We work directly with homeowners, builders, shop fitters, architects, property managers, and business owners. We coordinate with other trades on larger projects, and we communicate clearly the entire way through.

Credentials and compliance

Every electrician on the Elecool crew holds a current Victorian A-grade electrical licence. We carry $20 million in public liability insurance and full workers compensation. We are a MyEnergi-approved EV charger installer, and every prescribed job we complete is registered with Energy Safe Victoria.

We're members of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA). We hold current police checks (renewed every three years). And we don't use subcontractors — the person who quotes the job is the person who shows up to do it.

Are your electricians fully licensed and insured?
Yes. Every electrician who steps onto your property is an A-grade Victorian licensed electrician, covered by our $20 million public liability policy and workers compensation. We don't use subcontractors — the person quoting is the person on the tools.
Do you offer same-day or emergency electrical services?
Yes. We hold capacity in the daily run-sheet for same-day callouts across South East Melbourne, and we offer after-hours emergency support for genuine safety issues — power loss, burning smells, exposed wiring or tripping switchboards that won't reset.
How much does an electrician cost in Melbourne?
Most quoted residential jobs land between $180 and $450 for small installs (extra power points, ceiling fans, light replacements). Switchboard upgrades typically run $1,800–$3,500 depending on complexity. EV charger installs are most often $1,200–$2,800. Every job gets a fixed-price quote before we start — no hourly surprises.
Do you install Tesla and other EV chargers?
Yes — Elecool is a MyEnergi-approved installer and we install Tesla Wall Connectors, BYD chargers, Chery, Wallbox, Zappi, and all other major brands. We size the supply, run the cable, install the unit, and provide the compliance certificate.
How long does a typical electrical job take?
A power point or fan install is usually 30–90 minutes. An EV charger install is half a day to a full day. A switchboard upgrade is a full day. A full house rewire is 5–10 working days depending on size. We give you a time estimate with every quote.
Do you provide warranties on your work?
Yes. All Elecool workmanship is warranted for 12 months. Products and equipment carry their manufacturer's warranty (typically 2–5 years for switchboards and EV chargers, longer for LED lighting). We honour warranty callouts at no charge.
Can I get a Certificate of Electrical Safety?
Yes — and for any prescribed electrical work we are required by law to issue one. The certificate is registered with Energy Safe Victoria and you'll receive a copy by email within 5 business days of job completion.
