The bulk of Doncaster's housing went up between the late 1950s and the early 1980s — solid brick homes on generous blocks, most of them wired for a fraction of the load they now carry. The classic call-out is a board with ceramic fuses and one shared lighting circuit, tripping every time the reverse-cycle unit kicks in on a hot afternoon. We replace the board, split the circuits properly and fit safety switches on every final subcircuit, so the whole house doesn't drop out when the toaster carks it.
Doncaster Hill has changed the job mix. The apartment towers and the newer townhouse developments along Doncaster Road and Tram Road bring different work — meter room access, body corporate approvals, common-area lighting and EV chargers that need load management because the building's supply is already spoken for. We're a MyEnergi-approved installer, so we can size and set up a charger that plays nicely with a shared basement supply instead of tripping the main. We put the owners corporation paperwork together for you as well.
Renovations are the other constant. A lot of the original homes near Ruffey Lake Park are being opened up at the back, and once the kitchen wall goes so does half the old wiring. We'll take a look before demolition starts, tell you honestly whether the existing cabling is worth keeping, and give you a fixed price covering the new circuits, downlights, data and the board upgrade in one go. No surprise variations halfway through the build, and no chasing us for a second quote.

New circuits for induction cooktops, ovens and rangehoods, LED downlights on dimmers, extra GPOs and data where the family actually uses them. Common on the extended homes off Manningham Road, where the original wiring stops short of the new footprint.
