Retail fit-outs run to someone else's clock — the lease start, the centre's hoarding dates, the opening launch. We've wired more than 200 fit-outs across Melbourne since 2005, from boutiques on Chapel Street to tenancies inside Chadstone and Westfield Doncaster, and we plan the electrical so it never becomes the thing that holds up handover.

What we wire in a retail fit-out

Everything between the tenancy board and the last display light: sub-mains and distribution boards, general and dedicated power, point-of-sale and back-of-house circuits, LED track and feature lighting, illuminated shelving and brand fixtures, signage and lightbox power, digital screen circuits, and data points for POS and networked equipment.

We work from your designer's drawings or the centre's tenancy design criteria, and we flag clashes early — a missing dedicated circuit is cheap to fix on paper and expensive to fix after the ceiling's closed.

Shopping centre fit-outs without the delays

Centres have their own rules: fit-out manuals, tenancy coordinators, after-hours access windows, hot-work and isolation permits, and a final inspection before you can trade. We've been through the approval process at Chadstone, Westfield Doncaster and other centres, so we know what the tenancy coordinator will ask for and we have it ready.

Bring us in at design stage and we'll handle the centre's electrical submissions, isolations and sign-off paperwork for you.

Frequently asked questions

Still have questions?

Ask the team
How long does the electrical take on a typical shop fit-out?
For a standard specialty tenancy, the electrical rough-in usually runs over a few days and fit-off over another few, spread across the shopfitter's programme. We'll give you a realistic schedule with the quote so it fits your handover date.
Can you work to a shopping centre fit-out manual?
Yes. We work to centre design criteria and fit-out manuals regularly, including after-hours access procedures and centre-management approvals at Chadstone, Westfield Doncaster and others.
Do you work with shopfitters and builders, or direct with retailers?
Both. We work as the electrical subcontractor for shopfitters and builders, and directly for retailers who are managing their own fit-out.
Do you work after hours?
Yes. Evenings from 6pm, overnight, weekends and public holidays. On a quoted job you don't pay a premium for after-hours work — the quote already accounts for it.
Can you quote from drawings?
Yes — send the electrical or reflected ceiling plans with the quote form. For larger tenancies we'll also do a site visit, usually within 48 hours of your enquiry.
Can you send insurance certificates before work starts?
Yes. We carry $20 million public liability, professional indemnity and workers compensation, and we send certificates of currency before we start on site. Most landlords, centre managers and head contractors ask for them — tick the box on the quote form and we'll send them with your quote.
Do you look after the store after it opens?
Yes. Many retail clients keep us on for maintenance — lighting repairs, test and tag, emergency lighting checks and priority callouts when something stops working during trade.
